2023 Off-Season

Our 2023 off-season competitions are officially over. From upgrading our robot, Nemo, to 12 motor swerve and implementing auto alignment to the single substation, it has been an exciting and crazy off-season for us!

Our first event was SoCal Showdown. Our major upgrade for the off-season was 12 motor swerve drive. SoCal Showdown was the first event where we debuted our 12 motor swerve drive. 12 motor swerve increased our speed by 50%. We were selected by the number 6 alliance with our partners 1138 Eagle Engineering, 3473 Sprocket, and 3759 SMARTBOTS for the elimination rounds and made it to semi-finals.

Our second off-season competition was Tidal Tumble. We were ranked 6th and were captains of the number 5 alliance with our partners 4415 EPIC Robotz, 3128 Aluminum Narwhals, and 1148 Harvard Westlake Robotics. Going into the event, we upgraded to a more flexible polycarbonate for our intake plates so they wouldn’t break as easily. We attempted to implement an auto alignment feature to our robot to make single substation alignment faster, but were unable to perfect it in time. We kept that upgrade in mind for our next and final event, Beach Blitz.

For Beach Blitz, we were able to successfully implement auto substation alignment, speeding up our cycles and improving our scoring abilities. We were selected by the number 7 alliance with our partners 2839 Daedalus, 3647 Millennium Falcons, and 399 Eagle Robotics and made it to the semi-finals. Overall, we learned a lot of valuable lessons this season and are excited to see what challenges are in next year’s game!
