Privacy

This page explains what information frc4322.com collects, why, and how long we keep it. The site is run by FRC Team 4322 Clockwork, BSA Venturing Crew 1701, Orange, California.

What we collect

• Contact and registration forms. The fields on each form: names, email addresses, phone numbers, school and grade for students, and parent or guardian details for student registrations. We use them only to reply and to run the team.
• Team member accounts. When a team member signs in with their frc4322.com Google account, we keep their name, email, Google profile photo, and a record of recent sign-ins for security.
• Basic server logs. Request method, page, status, and a shortened IP address prefix, kept for 30 days to keep the site working and secure.

What we don't do

• We do not sell or share personal information, show ads, or use tracking or analytics cookies.
• We do not show team members' names, emails, or phone numbers on public pages. Email addresses appear only when you click a button to reveal them.
• We never ask for Discord or social media accounts on public forms.

Services we rely on

• Cloudflare hosts the site and runs Turnstile, a privacy-preserving spam check on our forms.
• Google provides team sign-in and sends our email.
• YouTube and Twitch play videos and live streams. The home page background video uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode; other videos load only when you click them.
• Open-Meteo supplies the weather for the animated sky, which is on by default. Your browser asks it directly, so it sees your IP address and a location rounded to about 7 miles (Orange, CA unless you turn on "Use my location" in Appearance).
• BigDataCloud looks up your city's name only if you turn on "Use my location", using the same rounded location; the answer stays in your browser for 30 days. Turn off the weather sky in Appearance to stop both.

How long we keep it

Form submissions are deleted after 18 months. Security and activity logs are deleted after 30 days. Team member records are kept while the person is on the team and as alumni history until a team administrator deletes them.

Cookies and storage

Signed-in team members get one session cookie that keeps them signed in. Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage. Public visitors get no cookies from us. To see how many people visit, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.

Students and minors

Student registrations include a parent or guardian so the team can reach both. Team members' information is visible only to team mentors and, for students, to their linked parents or guardians.
